Trailer for Season 3

From big cities to small towns, we see buildings every day of our lives. But what we don’t see are the years - and sometimes decades - of planning that it takes to build them from the ground up. Or sometimes not from the ground at all, but right above train tracks, like at Manhattan West in New York City.

Tom Glatthaar: We are seeing history as it develops. We saw this hole in the ground, become these enormous towers, and that's really cool. They'll be talking about that 50 years from now.

Manhattan West is just one example of how commercial real estate is reshaping our built world.

In season 3 of Built, take a walk with us as we explore the developments transforming our cityscapes, and continue our one-on-one conversations with thought leaders in the commercial real estate industry.

Mary Ludgin: Five years ago, the burning question that should have been asked that wasn't was: what difference will climate change make? So I’m thinking of what are we not asking ourselves now?

Buildings are no longer just the spaces where we live and work, but intricate spaces designed to cater to all of our needs and blend into the urban fabric of our communities.

Callie Haines: What do our tenants want? What does the neighborhood want? / Especially as we're coming out of this COVID world, tenants want their employees to have a diversity of experiences. They need to eat a great lunch. They wanna take care of themselves.  They wanna be entertained.  We think about every single detail incredibly carefully. And it's not about making the last dollar. It's about making a site that people wanna come to.

We’re taking you directly to innovative places and talking to the groundbreakers behind them - the architects, engineers, developers and more.
